Helen M. (Wansack) Gladysz, 87, of Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 18th, 2018 in UPMC Shenango Valley Farrell, PA. She was a kind, loving, and caring person who would do anything for anyone. Helen was born on August 14th, 1931 to John and Pauline (Kernisky) Wansack in West Middle, PA.

She graduated from West Middle High School class of 1949. Helen worked as supervisor / sales associate for JC Penny where she retired after more than 40 years. She married her husband, the late Stanley J. Gladysz on July 26th, 1952.

He passed away in 1992. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd and previously a member of St. Adalbert’s Church. Helen lived a religious life that was dedicated to God.

She enjoyed bus trips and casino trips with her daughter and friends. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing bingo and cooking. Most important to her was her family.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Karen A. Paxton and her husband Denny of Hermitage, granddaughter and love of her life, Kayle Laureń who was always there to help care for Helen, sisters, Anna Mae (Norman) Oliver of West Middle, PA, Catherine (James “Jim”) Sarvas of Sharon, PA, Cindy (Michael) Bartolo of West Middle, PA, brothers, Joseph (Joanne) Wansack of Hermitage, PA, John E. “Buddy” Wansack of West Middle, PA, nieces, Jacque (Joe) Grasso, her God daughter, Jill Sarvas, Lisa (Thomas) Oliver-Lapikas, Lori (David) Stonebraker, Carolyn Wansack, nephews, Jay Panzarella, Ken (Jennifer) Wansack, Keith (Jennifer) Wansack, her God son, Chris (Cheryl) Wansack, also surviving are great nieces and great nephews, Janelle, June, Jio, Jeno, Olivia, Nolan, Cash, Ian, Justin, Tyler, Maddie, Stefanie, Kyleigh, Kendall, and Megan. Also great great niece, Violet. She was preceded in death by father, John Wansack, mother, Pauline Wansack, husband, Stanley J. Gladysz, brothers, Peter Michael Wansack, Johnny George Wansack, brother in law, Louis Panzarella, and sister in law, Kathy Wansack.

Friends may call Tuesday November 20th, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 21st, 10:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd West Middle, PA, with Father Glenn Whitman, officiating.

Friends are welcome to meet directly at church for Mass. Burial will take place in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery.
