Imogene’s Obituary Nova “Imogene” Johnson, 88 of rural Holden, Missouri passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at her home. Imogene was born March 21, 1931 in Oregon County, Missouri daughter of James H. and Iva (Hand) Bailey. She attended school at Many Springs.

She was united in marriage to Frank Donald Johnson July 23, 1948 in Alton, Missouri. The couple made their home, for a brief time, near Many Springs prior to moving to Kansas City, Kansas. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri.

In 1983, the couple moved near Holden. Imogene loved canning, gardening, tending to her flower beds and following college softball. She was also an avid Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou fan.

She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. According to one of her grandsons, she was one of the finest cooks to ever walk this earth. She and Frank celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary this past year.

Survivors include her husband, Frank; three sons: Donald “Steven” (Melody) Johnson of Independence, MO; Thedford “Ted” Harvey Johnson and significant other: Sandy) of Austin, TX and Mark Gene Johnson of Holden, MO; daughter-in-law: Judith “Judy” Johnson of Blue Springs, MO; two sisters: Louise Harwell of St. Louis, MO and Mary Cartee of Blue Springs, MO; nine grandchildren: Shane (Dawn) Johnson of Grain Valley, MO; Mandi (Josh) Conklin of Lee’s Summit, MO; Aaron Johnson of Kansas City, MO; Rachel Johnson and significant other: Elizabeth of Kansas City, MO; Jessica (Mike) Wolf of Grain Valley, MO; Kyle Johnson of Blue Springs, MO; Trichia (John) Theiss of Blue Springs, MO; Austin Johnson of Blue Springs, MO and Aaron Stephenson of North Kansas City, MO; eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Linda; three sisters: Leta Blankenship, Edith Weaver and Rosalind Yates; and brother: James Bailey. Funeral Services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28th at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
