Irmgard K. Sowers, 87, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care, Sunday, April 22, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born December 11, 1930 in Rendsburg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Paul M. and Emma M. Kunz. Irmgard was the loving wife of the late Irvin J. Sowers with whom she shared 59 years of marriage until his passing on March 2, 2016.

Irmgard was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover. Mrs. Sowers enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She was dedicated to caring for her family.

Irmgard is survived by her children, Karen L. Sowers and Irvin J. Sowers, Jr. both of Hanover. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Irmgard’s life will be held 11 AM, Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with her pastor the Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10 – 11 Am, Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Irmgard to the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331 or St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
