Obituary James A. Meeks, age 86, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Jean Meeks; parents, James R. and Lucille Meeks; sisters, Rose Meeks and Martha Pilcher and brother, Kenneth Meeks. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Mitchell and Marjorie and Curtis Wheat, all of Dalton; step-son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Julie Pilcher of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Marissa Rogers, Zach Mitchell, Carson and Carmen Wheat and Nathan Pilcher; four great grandchildren, Waylon, Daniel, Juan and Julio; nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 31, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Wood officiating.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at funeral home Friday, May 31, 2019 from 3:00 until service time at 4:00 pm. To send flowers to the family of James A. Meeks, please visit Tribute Store.
