OBITUARY James Clyde Van Winkle June 27, 1943 – July 12, 2018 James C. Van Winkle of Charlotte, 75, passed away Thursday July 12, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday July 17 at Providence Presbyterian Church followed by a luncheon at Raintree Country Club. Jim is survived by his wife Wenona, daughter Lisa Fritschel, four grandchildren, Ryan (Saji), Skyler (Carrie), Thomas and Nicholas Fritschel, and 4 great grandchildren, Liliah, Makaela, Anthony, and Alex.

Two step daughters, Renea (Brad) Hardwick and Candy (Doug) Owens. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie and their son James A. Van Winkle. Jim grew up in Dearborn MI and is survived by his sister and two brothers.

As a young adult he served nine years active duty in the US Air Force followed by the Air Force Reserves. He was President of Fontaine Modification until his retirement in 2008. Jim was a passionate golfer and a very active member in the Raintree Country Club where he also served as President of the Board.

He is a member at the Providence Presbyterian Church and served as Vice President of the Stone Creek Ranch HOA. Donations may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church Deacons fund for those in need or the Children’s Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements are under the care McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park.
