James Edward Martin, Jr. 71, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his home after a battle with ALS – Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He was born July 28, 1946 to James and Rufina (Wibbenmeyer) Martin in St. Louis, Missouri. James worked in research and development for Bohn Aluminum in South Haven for thirty years.

He married Patricia Byrd on January 21, 1967 and shared 51 years in marriage. James loved his boys and was ecstatic with the grandchildren they gave him and enjoyed spending time with them every chance he got. He is preceded in death along with his parents by siblings – Charles and Caroline, a niece, and brother-in-law.

James is survived by his wife Patricia Martin, children – Edward (Paula) Martin of South Haven and Allen (Christy) Martin of Fennville, sister – Estelle Banaszak of South Haven, grandchildren – Jaron, Warren, Joy, Samantha, and Cameron, and great grandson – Kyler.
