James F. Harrington Sr. Lansing Passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the age of 84. Born January 30, 1934 to James and Lila (Conrad) Harrington in Saginaw, Michigan. Jim served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

He met his late wife, Helen, on July 4th while both stationed in Washington, D.C. and later married that year on September 9th. Jim retired from Builders Redi-Mix after many years working for this company. Jim was a member of the Good Sam’s Club and… Read More » volunteered at local voting polls.

He was active in the Neighborhood Watch and was presented the Hometown Hero Award by the Mayor. Jim also served on the Potters Park Zoo board and was a Boy Scout Troop Master for Troop 294. Preceding him in death were his wife, Helen Harrington; brother, Clarence Harrington; half-brother, Kendell Harrington; sisters, Maxine Mills, Laura Wyman as well as his parents.

Surviving are his children, James (Esther) Harrington Jr., Karen Bessette, William Harrington, John “Jack” Harrington; grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) Harrington, Phillip Harrington, David Harrington, Patrick (Hannah) Bessette, John Bessette, Jr.; great-grandson, Xander Harrington; sister, Karen (Charles) Wheeler as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel. Family will receive friends on Friday for visitation from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the funeral home.
