James H. Tinnell passed away at his daughter’s home on Monday, May 14, 2018. He lived a good life as a self-employed auto mechanic in the Bardstown, Nelson Co. area. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Leona Tinnell.

He is survived by his wife, Janie who loved and raised five children, Ricky (Cindy) Tinnell, Greg (Marsha) Tinnell, Cathy (Shane) Kirsch, Jim (Rhonda) Tinnell, and Susan (Joe) O’Bryan; twelve grandchildren, Jody Tinnell, Jamie Tinnell, Lacey Tinnell, Justin King, Lance King, Anna Tinnell, Alex Kirsch, Indi Kirsch, Julie Tinnell, Megan Ford, Morgan Ford, and Zach O’Bryan; ten beautiful great grandchildren; four brothers, Jack Tinnell, Henry Jr. Tinnell, Tim Tinnell, and Richard Tinnell; and two sisters, Louis Taylor and Joyce Young. His funeral service will be at 11:30 am Friday, May 18, 2018 at Barlow Funeral Home. Pastor Mavis Bennett will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3 till 8 pm Thursday, May 17, 2018 and 8 till 11:30 am Friday, May 18, 2018 at Barlow Funeral Home. James lived with Parkinson’s disease during the last years of his life and Hospice was a God send to his caregivers. Please make any donations in his name to “Hospice of Nelson County”.
