Obituary for James J. “Jim” Connolly Dateline Bordentown. James J. Connolly passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2019. Born in Bordentown he was a lifelong resident of the Bordentown/Crosswicks community.
Jim enlisted in the United States Navy and served during WWII. He was employed as a postal carrier for the Bordentown post office for 40 years. Jim was a devote catholic and parishioner of St. Mary’s church where he served many years as an Usher.
He was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Bordentown Knights of Columbus council #570. Jim was a member of the American Legion Bordentown Post 26, and an avid fisherman. But Jim’s greatest joy in life was his family.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and caring friend. Son of the late Bartholomew A. and Katherine Connolly, he is predeceased by his wife Jean Connolly, his son-in-law, John A. Gola, his brother and sister, John Connolly, Katherine Render. He is survived by his children, Kathleen Gola, Ann Marie Connolly, James Jr. (Valerie) Connolly, Eileen (Sean) Sheehy, John Connolly, Michael (Corrie) Connolly, Colleen Connolly (Glenn Scherer), his 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Donations may be made in Jim’s name to Mary Mother of the Church Parish 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown NJ 08505. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 8th, 2019 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown NJ 08505. Calling hours will be held Monday evening 6~8:00pm and Tuesday morning 9:30~10:30am at the funeral home.
