Obituary for Mr. James “Jim” H. Childress James “Jim” H. Childress, 85, of Salem passed away, Saturday, April 14, 2018, at GHS Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Salem, SC, Mr. Childress was the son of the late Roy and Mattie Heaton Childress. His favorite enjoyment in life was raising goats and living on a farm.

Mr. Childress was a US Air Force Veteran of over 20 years. Mr. Childress is survived by brothers: Marvin Childress of Greenville, SC and William Earl Childress (Jo Ann) of Byron, GA; sisters: Edna Garrett (Bobby), Lou Ella Palmer (Dean) of Greenville, SC and Ruth C. Smith of Salem, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Oconee Memorial Park.
