James’ Obituary James Thomas Mohon (Jim), 84, of Pilot Point passed away peacefully on February 10, 2019 at his home. Jim was born in Aubrey to the late James Edward & Eva Mae (Morris) Mohon, being the baby of the family. He was raised in Aubrey, TX where continued to live until moving to Pilot Point to downsize his cattle company in 1996.

On October 24th, 1959 he married Mary Ellen Beaty. They had three daughters together. Jim never met a stranger or a cow he couldn’t tame.

His word was the truth and expected yours in return. He loved and worshiped his family and provided a blessed life for them. You could meet him at any given time and he always had a handshake and smile ready for you without judgment.

Throughout his life he purchased many head of cattle for himself and others. Cattle buying was his life and he continued to talk about it up until his last days. Jim retired only a year and a half ago due to a difficult diagnosis of ALS.

He continued to live every day to the fullest up until his death. Jim is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Mohon; daughter Lora Gibby (David Sr.) of Mountain Springs, TX; Pam Fournier of Pilot Point, TX; and Stephanie Mohon-Hill (Josh) of Pilot Point, TX. ; sister Joan Cohagen (Mark) of Denton, TX.

; grandchildren David Gibby Jr., Dondi Gibby, Chase Tipton, James Fournier, Jarret Hill, Jayden Hill, Kinley Hill and Brooklyn Hill; 12 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Jim is preceded in death by 4 bothers, Bud, Cecil, Carroll & Bill Mohon; 4 sisters, Vera, Lena Faye, Ida Mae & Eddene. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 16th from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Krugerville, 5021 US-377, Aubrey, TX 76227.

Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Redfearn officiating. Burial will follow at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey.

“It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you, the day God called you home”.
