Obituary for James L C “Skitter” Pruitt For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life”. John 3:16 “ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”. Mathew 11:28 James LC (Skeeter) Pruitt, age 93 was peacefully called to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 3, 2018.

He was born August 29, 1924, son of the late C.N. “Jim” and Martha Pruitt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred McCoy Pruitt, his parents and one brother. He was a long time member of Jackson Memorial Church in Bristol,VA and previous to moving to Bristol he was member of Dyers Chapel Church in Stratton VA for 20+ years.

He was a lifetime Loving partner to his wife Mildred McCoy (Midge) of 67+ years. He was a navy veteran of WWII. He owned/Drove coal trucks and many may remember him as a school bus driver in Dickenson County.

He is survived by two daughters Pamela Bartley and husband Randall of Elkhorn KY, Mitzi Hill and husband Sam of Meadowview VA, one son James (jimmy) Pruitt, Jr. and wife Cathy of Wise VA, Granddaughters, Rebecca Bartley Hackworth and husband Kenny of West Liberty Ky, Jayme Pruitt of Ashville NC; Three Great Grandsons, Austin Bartley of Elkhorn City Ky ; Ashton and Brett Hackworth of West Liberty Ky, and one Great Granddaughter London Skye Freeman of Ashville NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Austin Bartley, Samuel C. Hill, Randall Bartley and Dean Moore Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim McCoy, John Pruitt, David Wyatt, Jason Pruitt A VFW service will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday June 6, 2018 outside Mullins Funeral Home.

Graveside services will follow in the Chapel of Love Temple Hill Memorial Park with Darrell Milgrim officiating. Mullins Funeral Home and Staff are serving the Pruitt Family. Online condolences may be made at www.
