A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Walter Emmory Holmes and the late Helen Trollinger Holmes. His survivors include two sons, James Eric Holmes of Graham and Xzavion Robinson of Burlington; one daughter, Jacquelyn Rachelle Holmes of Greensboro; four sisters, Mildred L. Holmes, Janice Holmes-Worth (Willie), Sharon A. Curtis (Anthony), and Denise M. Holmes, all of Burlington; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Holmes’ funeral service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019, at 1:00 pm at Unity Worship Center with Pastor Christopher Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Farr-Marr Cemetery. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to his funeral service at the church, and all other times, at the home of his sister Mildred Holmes, 628 Delaware Avenue, Burlington.

Mr. Holmes’ public viewing will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2019, from 1:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at alamancefuneralservice.org. Alamance Funeral Service has the honor of serving the Holmes Family.
