James Donald Reagan, 80, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon. He was born September 5, 1937 in Granite City, a son of the late William Preston and Alene (Hewlett) Reagan. He married Mary Elizabeth (Perkins) Reagan on January 12, 1959 in Granite City and she passed away on June 6, 1985.

He has worked with Greater Beneficial Union of Pittsburgh from July 1, 1978, retiring as Chairman of the Board on January 4, 2005. He had also worked from 1969 until 1995 for G.S. Robins Company in St. Louis, retiring as a plant manager. The United States veteran proudly served his country with the Coast Guard and was an avid reader and enjoyed watching movies.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Dawn Reagan Jr. of Edwardsville and Tom Reagan of Glen Carbon; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Chris Revelle of Glen Carbon; four grandchildren, Garret O’Bryan, Mary and Eric Starr, Tommy Reagan Jr. and fiancé, Morgan Johnson and Donal Reagan; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Richard Soloman of Maryville; other extended family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Willeta and Glen Beasley. In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ivan Schoem officiating.

Burial with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be made the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society and may be accepted at the funeral home.
