Obituary of James Fields, Jr. James Herbert “Rabbit” Fields, Jr. 75, of Siler City died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Rex Health Care, in Raleigh. Mr. Fields was born July 20, 1942, the son of James Herbert and Retta Bright Fields. He was native of Chatham County, a member of Siler City Pentecostal Holiness Church and worked as a custodian for Chatham Central High School.

Rabbit enjoyed cooking for benefits and loved helping people. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother: William Clarence Fields and a sister: Pattie Seagroves. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carol Smith Fields, daughters: Arlene Fields of Bear Creek, Robin Hercules of Murfreesboro, TN, stepchildren: Tina Cockman Roberts and husband, Robbin of Graham, George David Cockman, Jr. and wife, Heather of Liberty, sister: Brenda Fields Shaw and husband, Tony, of Bear Creek, brothers: Colon Robert Fields and wife, Linda of Creston and David Wayne Fields and wife, Cathy, of Bear Creek, grandchildren: Dusty Warner (Kristin), Kalen, Jamie, Cameron, Ashleigh, Ryan, Coty, Blake, Logan and Travis, great-grandchildren: Bella, Preston and Kylan.

Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 1 to 3 PM at Siler City Pentecostal Holiness Church, 17475 US 64 W, Siler City. Funeral services will follow in the church sanctuary with Rev.
