OBITUARY Jannie Knicely Shifflett March 16, 1929 – January 4, 2019 Jannie Knicely Shifflett, 89, of Gordonsville, died Friday, January 4, 2019. Born March 16, 1929 in Dayton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mabel Simmons Knicely and was the devoted wife of Frank W. Shifflett, Sr. who went home to be with the Lord on November 3, 2015. Jannie is survived by her four sons, Frank W. Shifflett Jr. and his wife Pam, Joseph T. Shifflett Sr. and his wife Frances, Henry D. Shifflett and his friend Dale, and Ted McClinton and his wife Norma; two daughters, Jannie Fincham and Judy Kingrea; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

She was a strong woman of faith and had overcome a lot in her life. She loved Jesus and her family. She welcomed all into her home, especially children, and will be missed by all.

The family greatly appreciates the care and love she received at Hospice House – Hospice of the Piedmont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jannie’s name to the Hospice House – Hospice of the Piedmont. A graveside funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Holly Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Teague Funeral Home.
