Gregory Lyn Hensley April 02, 1947 – February 25, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Gregory Lyn Hensley, 71, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019, at UVA Medical Center. Born April 2, 1947 in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Cornelius “Sammy” and Helen Hensley. He was also predeceased by his sister Linda Craig and half-brother Tim Johnson.

He is survived by his children, Tracey Walker and her husband Chip, Kelli O’Dell and her husband Craig; and grandchildren, Trenton Walker, Kylar and Rylan O’Dell. He is also survived by his significant other Susan; siblings, Michael Hensley and wife Carolyn, Deborah Shifflett and husband Junior, Pam Bingler and husband Aaron; brother in law Larry Craig, and numerous nieces and nephews. Greg proudly served in the United States Army and worked in the grocery industry spending the last two decades as loyal employee for Sam’s Club of Charlottesville.

A celebration of life will be held at the Elks Lodge on Sunday, March 3, 2019. The family will be receiving friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Greg’s memory to Albemarle County Fire Rescue 460 Stagecoach Road Suite F Charlottesville, VA 22902.
