David Moore July 24, 1946 – February 19, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook David Moore, 72, of Charlottesville, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. He was born on July 24, 1946, a son of the late Howard and Naomi Moore. He is survived by his brother, Kirk; sister-in-law, Iris; and sister, Angela Moore.

He graduated from Washington and Lee and served in the US Military. After the military, he worked for the UVA medical school. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Charlottesville, Va.

He loved his Sunday school class and enjoyed his time eating breakfast with the Tuesday morning men’s prayer group. David had a heart for missions, seeking to have the gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed throughout the world. He gave all he could to help with international mission efforts.

Many thanks to the staff at Mountainside Senior Living and Cedars Healthcare Center for their many years of care. Also, sincere thanks go to the nurses and doctors at UVA Medical Center 3rd floor North who lovingly cared for David during his last few days. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Hill and Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Long officiating.

Memorial donations may be given to the International Mission Board (GIVE. IMB. ORG) or any other world mission organization.
