Jay Slaton, age 73, of Russellville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018 at his home. He was a Logan County native born July 27, 1945 to the late George Edward Slaton and Macy Hambrick Slaton. He worked as President of Citizens National Bank for many years, then as C.E.O. of South Central Bank Shares.

He was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church, served as past president of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and was a past board member of the Logan Economic Alliance for Development. He is survived by: His Wife of 55 years ~ Marilyn Simmons Slaton 2 Sons ~ William Edward Slaton and wife, Rosemary ~ Simpsonville, SC Christopher Jay Slaton and wife, Amanda ~ Bowling Green, KY 1 Daughter ~ Lesley Dawn Taylor ~ Russellville, KY 3 Grandchildren ~ Justin Slaton, Catie Slaton and Peyton Taylor A Sister In Law ~ Linda Slaton ~ Russellville, KY Several Nieces and Nephews also survive He was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell N. Slaton. A private service for Jay Slaton will be held at a later time.

Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Post Oak Baptist Church, Hillview Heights Church or to Hosparus. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
