Obituary for Jean Denton Brubeck Jean Denton Brubeck, 70, of Evansville, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at her residence. She was born October 2, 1947 in Chicago, IL to the late William and Anne (Denton) Brubeck. Jeanie graduated from Mt.

Carmel High School and DePauw University, and received her Masters of Library of Science from the University of Michigan. After working at the music library at the University of Evansville, she spent the rest of her career in Development at the University of Southern Indiana, the Girl Scouts of Southwestern Indiana, and Signature School. She was a member of the Evansville Country Club, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, PEO, Southwestern Indiana Master Gardner Association, Inklings Book Club, and First Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder and Trustee.

She was currently the Vice-President of the Willard Library Board of Trustees. She was a past President of the YWCA Board, Junior League of Evansville, Evansville Museum Board, and Past Vice-President of the Association of Junior Leagues International. Jeanie enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling, having visited all seven continents.

She is survived by her brother, William (Betsy) Brubeck of Newburgh; nephews, Matthew (Kari) Brubeck, Christopher (Kamme) Brubeck and Jonathan Brubeck. Jean was preceeded in death by her parents and former husband, Robert Stayman. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, July 23, 2018, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave.

, Evansville, IN 47714. Visitation will continue from 9:30 am to 10:30 am Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 609 SE 2nd St, Evansville, IN 47713. A funeral service will begin at 10:30 am at the church with Reverend Kevin Fleming officiating.
