Obituary for Marcellus Baehl Marcellus A. “Sally” Baehl, 85, of Evansville, died peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018 with his wife and three children at his side. He was born July 8, 1933 in Vanderburgh County to the late Margaret J. (Elpers) and Robert A. Baehl. Marcellus owned and operated his farm.
Raising cattle, hogs and grain. He retired from farming in 2008. He also worked full time at O’Neal Steel, formally The Orr Iron Company, retiring from there in 1998.
He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and farming. He also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, the Indianapolis Colts, attending the Vanderburgh County Fair and State Fairs. Marcellus also enjoyed attending farm shows that featured the latest in machinery, farming techniques and seed varieties.
Marcellus is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane F. (Wigger) Baehl; son, Mark C. Baehl of Evansville; daughters, Marcy L. (Jay) Stephens of Newburgh and Meredith R. (Andrew) Titzer of Newburgh; grandchildren, Shelby Titzer, Seth Stephens, Alexander Titzer, McKenzie Stephens and Sydney Stephens. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave.
, Evansville, IN. A memorial service/wake will be celebrated at 6:30-7:00 pm at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 9:30- 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church 600 E Virginia St, Evansville, IN 47711, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Fathers Ed Schnur & Jay Davidson presiding.
