Jean’s Obituary Jean L. (Leaf) Mauro, 75, of Liverpool passed away on Thursday after a long battle with Crohn’s Disease. She was born in Long Branch, NJ. As an infant she came to Syracuse where she was raised graduating from Valley High School.

She has resided in Liverpool for the past 48 years. Jean was employed for several years with the Liverpool Central School District as a Job Coach working with handicapped children. Her true focus in life was her family, husband Michael, son Stephen and especially caring for her special needs son Michael.

She will be remembered as a caring gentle soul, always putting others before herself. She was a parishioner at Christ the King Church in Liverpool. Jean is predeceased by her three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Michael J. Mauro, Jr. of Liverpool, two sons, Michael J. Mauro, III of Bridgeport, NY and Stephen J. Mauro of Liverpool, sister, Joanne (John) Ranz of Brewerton and several nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00am in Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle Liverpool, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Baldwinsville.
