Jeannine Marie (Hirsch) Tyree, 89, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Bethel Manor. Jeannine was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 29, 1929 to the late Leo M. and Gertrude P. (Schweitzer) Hirsch. She graduated from the University of Evansville with honors, earning Master’s Degrees in Education and in Counseling, taught 19 years at Washington Middle School, and had a private counseling practice for 4 years.

Jeannine was a member of Helpmates, a singles… Read More » ministry of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, doing volunteer counseling for some of the members and was a volunteer counselor for many years. She was a member of the American Association for Counseling and Development, Phi Kappa Phi, the Evansville Museum, the Artists Guild and the Ohio Valley Writers Guild. Jeannine also worked with the Ecumenical Action Commission in the 1960’s.

She was a member of the Wings of Shasta Lincoln Trail Campers and traveled over the USA and Canada in her motor home. She was an Elder at Parke Memorial Presbyterian Church where she served as a volunteer organist for many years. She also served as an organist at St. Andrews (formerly North Park) and Immanuel Presbyterian Churches and had been a Sunday School teacher and superintendent.

Jeannine is survived by her daughter, Joan E. Scott; her son, Robert Mark Tyree; grandchildren, Robert Kymn Tyree, Melodie Dawn Proper, Amanda Jeanine Hanna, Christopher Shaun Payne, Laura Michelle (Payne) Gravitt; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Jeannine was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert F. Tyree, Harvey Buck and J. Wallace “Wally” Carlson; her daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ann and Mike Moody; and her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sue Hirsch. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave.

, Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor David Schwambach officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home.
