Obituary for Harold ”Nick” Gossman Harold W. “Nick” Gossman, 84, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, at his residence. He was born December 6, 1933 in Evansville, IN to the late Cecelia and Victor Gossman. Nick graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Navy.
He retired from Whirlpool in 1993 after 41 years. Nick was an active member at Resurrection Catholic Church, Mater Dei Men`s Club, Mater Dei Alumni Association and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards especially clabber.
Nick is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sylvia (Niemeier) Gossman; sons, Michael (Melissa) and Randy Gossman; daughters, Nancy ( Richard) Hicks and Karen (Hung)Nguyen; grandchildren, Amy, Kristen and Stephanie Gossman, Leandra (Art) Adye, Alyssa (Logan)Storrer, Erin and Justin Hicks, April, Ryan and Jordyn Gossman, and Macy Nguyen; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Byers and Doris Magee. Nick was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sylvester and Victor Gossman; sister, Virginia Brantley. Visitation will be 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Monday, September 3, 2018 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave.
, Evansville. A rosary service will be held at 5:30 pm at the funeral home. Visitation will continue 9:30 am – 10:30 am, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 5301 New Harmony Rd, Evansville, IN 47720.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am at the church with Reverend Lowell Will officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
