Jerry’s Obituary Jerry Wayne Pursell, 76, formerly of Paris, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his residence in McAlester, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel in McAlester. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home in McAlester.

Jerry was born December 18, 1942 in Maywood, California to Jodie Jack Pursell and Mary Bell (Dollins) Haley. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduating from high school. Jerry married Carolyn Compelube in Ft.

Smith, Arkansas and worked in commercial construction. He was a member of a car club and took great interest in his 1937 Ford with 357 Hemi. He adored his grandkids and family most of all.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Traci Faver and husband, Darrell of McAlester; step-daughter, Sharon and husband Jimmy Blasengame of McAlester; grandchildren, Cayla Faver, Kenzi Faver, Ashleigh Faver, Jaxon Faver, James Blasengame, Scott Blasengame, and Tonya Blasengame; great-grandchildren, Christian, Zachary, Lexy, Lydia, Gracie, Sam, Alex, Faith and a host of other family and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Pursell and Mary Haley; wife, Carolyn Pursell who died in 2005; daughter, Lisa Bartinik and a sister, Virginia Perez.
