Lurline Hamburg December 28, 1925 – February 13, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Lurline Hamburg, 93, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, at a local nursing center. The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, Feb.

16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Potts Cemetery near Buffalo Valley. Lurline Hamburg was born on Dec. 28, 1925 in Talihina to Norton and Lillie (Potts) Anderson.

She grew up in Buffalo Valley then lived in Oklahoma City for a short time before making McAlester her home in 1963, after marrying Jirl Hamburg in Oklahoma City. She worked as a claim administrator for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission for 37 years before retiring. Lurline is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Diane Hamburg; 6 grandchildren, Michelle Allen and husband Brent, Jirline Rice, Bonnie Strobridge and husband David, Charlette Moss and husband Bryan, Kristin Fleming and Ryan Hamburg; 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; a niece, Lavada Mineer and husband Roger; and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Hamburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jirl, and a son, Gary Hamburg.
