Ddwin “Ed”‘s Obituary Edwin “Ed” Allen Hargrave, 90, of Kiowa, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chaney’s Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chaney’s Memorial Chapel with Rev.

Jim Ray officiating. The burial will follow at Kiowa Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Perteet, Zack Osborne, Tracy Allen, Josh Timmons, Brian Brewer, and Dwayne Latty.

Honorary Pallbearers will be James Perteet, James Brown, Sr., Jim Pierce, Jerry Goddard, Billy Hargrave, John Doyle, Freddie Mills, James “Red” Mills, Joe Wilkins, John Dvorak, Kenneth Jones, Larry Wilson, Everett Beaver, Chuck Cox, Paul Adams, Jr., Walt Roberts, Dr. Ronnie Richardson and Dr. Jon McCauley. Ed was born February 24, 1929, in Stecker, Oklahoma to Willie S. Hargrave and Bertha Mae (Dailey) Hargrave. He married Willie Jean Mills in 1952.

She preceded him in death May 28, 2003, just two weeks shy of their 51st wedding anniversary. He married Jewel Wheeler in 2004. She preceded him in death November 6, 2016.

Ed enjoyed life and loved being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren. He and Willie took care of all 4 of their grandkids so they never had to go to a daycare. Ed was an avid Country Music fan and enjoyed playing the guitar and the harmonica.

Ed enjoyed going to Kiowa basketball games, watching his favorite show The Price is Right, and he loved to go dancing at the VFW. He enjoyed gardening, picking up pecans, and cooking for his family. Ed loved making homemade rolls for the senior citizens center in Kiowa.

He was affectionately called Eddie Crocker by his family. His rolls and pound cakes were legendary. He was also preceded in death by his father, Willie Hargrave; mother, Bertha Teeter; step-father, Arvin Teeter; grandson, Dustin Bridges; one great-grandchild; brother, Bill Hargrave and son-in-law, Gene Poe.

Ed will be forever missed by his daughters, Marla Perteet and husband, James of Kiowa; Gayla McGehee of Krebs; step daughters, Sharolyn Poe of the home and Barbara Adams of Euless, TX; grandchildren, Jeff Perteet of McAlester, Jamie Osborne of Yukon, Laci Allen and husband, Tracy of Wilburton; Kami Timmons and husband, Josh of McAlester; Tammy Laymance and husband, Steve of Flower Mound, TX and Jessica Caldwell of Sherman, TX; great grandchildren, Zack Osborne of Yukon; Lexi and Tristyn Allen of Wilburton; Kolben and Emersyn Timmons of McAlester, Alex, Matthew and Grace Laymance of Flower Mound, TX and Jasmine Johnson of Sherman, TX; sisters, Jean Goddard of Oklahoma City and Sue Pierce and husband, Jim of Fresno, CA and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
