Noah O. Rains March 18, 1934 – March 24, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Noah O. Rains, 85, of McAlester, died Sunday in McAlester. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday until 8:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park with Rev. Chip Lott officiating.

Noah Rains was born on March 18, 1934 in Ada to L. U. and Cora (Miller) Rains. His family moved to this area when he was a child and he has made his home in Krebs for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded his honorable discharge in 1951.

He was married to Charlene (Warren) Rains, who survives him. He worked for the Corps of Engineers as a drill rig foreman for over 40 years, retiring in 1990. Noah loved to go “antique” hunting and so, after his retirement he owned and operated the Rockin R Antique Store in McAlester’s Northtown.

He loved to go to auctions and estate sales to find some good antiques for the store. Noah is survived by his wife, Charlene Rains of the home; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Jackie and Tony Hendricks of Norman, Karen Elliott of Savanna; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Daren and Holly Elliott of Chandler, AZ and Jeff and Kerri Elliott of Mesquite, Tx; grandchildren, Heather Hendricks and Brian Sauer of Norman, Kyle Hendricks of Norman, Joel and Kara Elliott of Mesquite, Tx. ; great grandchildren, Leo and Ian Sauer of Norman; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Christine Rains of Lynn Haven, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gene “Goat” Rains; a sister, Janet Love; and his in-laws, Ed Warren and Duretta Smith.
