Obituary for Jewell Colleen Johnson Jewell M. Johnson Obituary Jewell M Johnson, age 95, born at Darwin, VA on May 21, 1923, passed away Friday November 16, 2018 at The Laurel’s Retirement and Assisted Living in Norton, VA. Jewell was of the Baptist faith and along with her husband, Jim, were founding members of Alleghany Baptist Church in Blacksburg, VA where they faithfully attended for many years. Jewell received her LPN nursing degree at Radford, VA in 1943.

Her compassion for others was demonstrated by collecting and donating to poor children worldwide. She also contributed and listened to her beloved BBN Christian Radio Station. She was preceded in death by her parents, Logan Pressely Mullins and Sarah Arabelle Arrington Mullins, husband James G. Johnson, Sr., and two daughters, Carolyn Johnson and Janet Sue Johnson.

Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Carvis Mullins, Kermit Mullins, and Cecil Mullins. Three sisters Garnette Large, Hattie Wallen, and Zella Wallen. She is survived by: Two sons: James G. Johnson, Jr., San Francisco, CA.

, and Daniel Johnson, Charlotte, NC. Two grandchildren: David St.Clair, Charlotte, NC. , Angela Copeland, Charlotte, NC.

Three great grandchildren: Nick St. Clair, Corey St. Clair, and Monica Garlich A host of nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Roselawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Christiansburg, VA. Burial will follow.
