Joan Wojewoda, October 19, 1940 — April 08, 2018

Obituary for Joan Wojewoda Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living. Age 77 years. The daughter of the late Robert and Jennie (Witek) Kersheske, Joan was born on October 19, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio.

She married Walter Wojewoda, Jr. on April 22, 1961. He predeceased her on December 9, 2017. Joan was a Legal Secretary for Cook, Nash and Deibel Law Firm.

She enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers on Londo Lake in Hale. She loved playing bingo, fishing and spending time with her club friends. Joan was a charter member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Debbie (Alan) Neilson, Freeland; David (Ann Marie) Wojewoda, Saginaw; Robert Wojewoda, Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Andrew Neilson and his significant other Dayna Olson, Julie (Ben) Tacktor, Michelle (Jordan) Buchinger, Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Wojewoda, John Wojewoda and his fiancée Candice Budnik, Sydney Wojewoda, Alaina Neilson and Melanie Wojewoda; five great-grandchildren, Trent and Charlotte Tacktor, Isaiah and Riley Christopher and Charlie Buchinger; her brother, Gregory (Margaret) Kersheske; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of the staff at Brookdale Senior Living for the loving and compassionate care given to their mother. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd.

Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with entombment to follow in St. Andrew Mausoleum.

Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. , (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
