Joanne’s Obituary HUDSON FALLS — Joanne M. Orellana, age 57, of Hudson Falls, peacefully passed away after a long illness on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center in Fort Edward, N.Y. Born on December 18, 1961 in Albany, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late James and Lillian Mae (Hallenbeck) Vedder. Joanne graduated from Schuylerville High School in 1980, and after her graduation, she went on to become a chef for various restaurants.

She also dedicated her time and care to helping troubled teenagers, even taking in a foster child. Unfortunately, Joanne suffered from a stroke, but that did not keep her from doing amazing things the people she cared about. Joanne was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, and she will be missed by everyone she has ever met.

In addition to her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her brother, George Vedder. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, SammiJo Orellana (Randy Habshi) of Hudson Falls; her son, Michael Vedder of Schenectady; her adopted daughter, who she saw as her own, Rebecca Bisallion (Diane Kelly) of Hudson Falls; her 4 lovely grandchildren; her brothers and sisters; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her very special friend of 38 years, Elizabeth “Buddy” Millet, whose friendship gave her great joy in both her childhood and during the time of her illness. Calling hours will take place on Thursday, Feb.

7, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
