Joel Lee O’Neal, 42, of Cooleemee, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018, at Wilkes Regional Medical Center in North Wilkesboro. He was born in Rowan County on September 4, 1975, and was a graduate of Davie County High School, Class of 1997. He attended the First Baptist Church of Mocksville.

Joel is survived by his mother, Lynne L. Vogler Ijames, and one brother, Eric Thomas O’Neal (Melissa), both of Cooleemee; and two uncles, two aunts and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas E. and Jamie Kurley Vogler, a nephew, Evan Thomas O’Neal, and special friends, Shirley Sellers and Gary Redmond. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 5, at Davie Funeral Chapel with Rev.

Shane Young officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Legion Memorial Park.
