Obituary for John C. Rishel John C. Rishel, 72, of Dover, died on November 15, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Patricia Lynn (Lowery) Rishel. Born in Dover on May 31, 1946, he was the son of the late James Smith and Susan Ellen (Grey) Rishel.

He was a graduate of Dover High School and was a truck driver for CF Mason-Dixon and ABF. John was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post 791 and the Teamsters 776.

John enjoyed NASCAR and Sprint Car races. He was a member of First Moravian Church, York. He is survived by a son, Richard C. Rishel and his girlfriend, Mary Myers of York; a daughter, Christine A. Teal and her husband, Shane; five grandchildren, Caine M. Teal, Shianne Teal, Taylor Teal, Hailey Teal and Gage W. Rishel; two great grandchildren, Jude and Jackson; three brothers, Timothy Rishel and his wife, Georgia of Spring Grove, Charles Rishel and his wife, Wanda of Spring Grove and Jeffrey Rishel and his wife, Linda of West York; and two sisters-in-law, Cathy Lowery of Oxnard, CA and Miale Lowery of Honolulu, HI.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York, with Pastor Sayward Lippincott officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924N Colonial Avenue, York, PA 17403. Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E.
