Mr. John Calvin “Sonny” Willis age 74 of 3860 Dickey Mill Rd. Mebane, NC transitioned on May 24, 2019 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill NC. Mr. Willis was the son of Mr. Charlie Preston Willis and Mrs. Frances Warren Willis born January 27, 1945 in Alamance County, NC.

“Sonny” was a graduate of Central High School and a retiree of Walter Kidde Manufacturing. Mr. Willis served as a trustee at Miles Chapel Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. “Sonny” is survived by his wife, Josephine Garner Willis and his two sons; Jonathan Michael Willis (Suzanne) of Menifee, CA and Jeffrey Maurice Willis; one sister, Annie Willis of Mebane, NC and two grandchildren, Jamar M. Willis of Frankfort Germany and Jade M. Willis of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law, Carrie Willis; brother-in-law, Edward Miles and special niece, Carol Jean Willis.

Mr. Willis was preceded in death by siblings, Walter Clemon Willis, Margie Miles, Nellie Hightower, Emma Love, Betty Jean Willis and Addie Evans.
