Obituary for Mr. John Carlton Scoggins Mr. John Carlton Scoggins, 69, of Lincoln, passed away on May 23, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Scoggins was born on December 19, 1948 in Childersburg, Alabama to the late John W. Scoggins, who passed away on October 5, 1984, and the late Willene Scoggins née Adams, who passed away on October 2, 2012. He was a resident of Lincoln for over 25 years.

He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a retired skilled laborer. Mr. Scoggins is survived by his two children, Shirley Frances Kinnear of Woodridge, Illinois, and John Ezekiel Scoggins of Anniston; two grandchildren, Shawn Joshua Kinnear of Boulder, Colorado and Ethan Francis Kinnear of Woodridge, Illinois; siblings, Patsy Stone of Chester, South Carolina, Shirley Scoggins of Anniston, Joe and Linda Scoggins of Milan, Indiana, Debra Scoggins of Anniston, Terry Scoggins of Anniston; 12 living nieces and nephews, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Willene Scoggins, and a brother, Robert Scoggins.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory located at 50 Hamric Drive E Oxford, Alabama. A visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. A memorial service will be held on the same day at 1:00 pm.

A burial will take place around 2:15 pm on the same day at Sunny Eve Baptist Church Cemetery located on Sunny Eve Road in Anniston, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Mr. Scoggins to the Disabled American Veterans, the VFW, or to The American Legion.
