JOHN’s Obituary John Charles Skog, age 56, died peacefully on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at home with his family by his side. He was born on August 30th, 1962 in Sandstone to Chester and Joan (Johnson) Skog. John married Denise Doboszenski on August 20th, 1983 in Sturgeon Lake.

John was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting and fishing with his children, brothers, friends, and family. He enjoyed teaching the younger generations all of his skills. John loved fishing from his hobie.

He was a man of many talents and interests, working various jobs throughout the years with the Sturgeon Lake Feed Mill, Gobel Excavataing, and Gary Maloney, as a meat cutter with Red Owl, IGA, and Marketplace Meats, and as a home care giver to Bob Jackson. In John’s free time, he put numerous miles on his side by side, enjoyed gardening, and was passionate about racing. He spent a lot of time with his cats; John went from being a “cat hater” to absolutely adoring his kitties.

Although he was stubborn, John was the most lovable and caring man, willing to give the shirt off of his back for a stranger. Above all else, John received the most joy from Mondays when he spent all day with his grandson, Victor, and great-nephews, Ozzy and Harvey. He will be missed deeply by his wife of 35 years, Denise Skog; son, Richard (Rachel) Skog of Sturgeon Lake; daughter, April Skog of Sturgeon Lake; brothers, Tim (Julie) Skog, Bill (Marcy) Skog, and Jared (Amy) Skog, all of Sturgeon Lake; sisters, Kay (Micheal) Southerland of Florida, Becky (John) Mach of Morris, Penny (Ron) Greniger of Cloquet, and Amy (Nathan) Berg of Moose Lake; grandson, Victor Skog; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Joan Skog; brother, Clint Skog; brother, Tom Skog and sister-in-law, Julie Skog; sister, Susie Skog; and brother-in-law, Ethan Resac. Memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 14th, 2018 from 5-7p.m. at Hamlin- Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home and continue from 10a.m. until the 11a.m. Memorial Service on Saturday, December 15th, 2018 at Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
