John “Jack” Trost, 83, of Olney, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at his residence. Jack was born on September 27, 1935 in Mt. Clemens, MI, the son of Harold and Elsie (Mayhew) Trost.

He married Mary Irene (Novak) and she survives him. Jack worked for CIPS for 30+ years. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and lover of horses.

Over the years he participated in parades with his hand-crafted carriages. Jack had various talents; wood carving and painting to name a few. He was known for his quick wit and sly sense of humor.

Jack was also a member of the Antioch Christian Church. Jack is survived by his wife, Mary Trost of Olney; Son, Eric Trost and wife Cindy Zerkle of Olney; Son, Kevin Trost of Port St. Lucie, FL; Step-son, Keith Brown and wife Jan of West Palm Beach, FL; Step-daughter, Cherrie Kelly and husband Brian of Port St. Lucie, FL; Step-son, Ken Jackson and wife Robin of Noble; Step-son, David Jackson of Olney; Grandchildren, Elise Trost, John Trost, and Justin Gore; Step grandchildren, Adrian Jackson, Braeden Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Patrick Kelly, Brandon Kelly, Trina Swinson, and Jacinta Brown; Great grandchildren, Sophia and Sierra; Step great grandchild, Gavin Harmon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Step-daughter, Gari Brown, Step grandchild, Alex Brown, and Step grandchild, Anastasia Herendez.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at the Antioch Christian Church with a visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
