John K. Longenecker, 96, Hollidaysburg, died Monday, July 30, 2018, at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. He was born December 1, 1921, in Annville, son of the late Charles H. and Martha (Euston) Longenecker. He married Irene R. Shaffer in 1949, and she preceded him in death in 2011.

Surviving are a daughter, Roxanne S. Brawley and husband, Paul; two sons: John K. Longenecker and wife, Patty, all of Duncansville, and Nelson B. Longnecker of Altoona; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Esther M. Dick of Roaring Spring. John served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He retired as a driver from Lafferty Trucking Co., Altoona.

He was a member of the Teamsters Local 110 since 1946, and he enjoyed hunting, gardening and working on his farm. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to noon Friday, August 3, 2018, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will follow at noon, Pastor Klavens Noel officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park.
