Obituary for John Kelly Lamie John Kelly Lamie, age 82, of Jewell Valley, Virginia, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at his home following a long illness. He was born in Bartley, West Virginia on October 14, 1936 to John David and Mattie Elizabeth Smith Lamie. Jay, as everyone knew him, was a retired auto worker from Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, Ohio.
His passion in life was serving God. He was a minister of the gospel for 69 years, beginning when he was 13 years of age. He was an ordained minister of the Independent Church of the Living God and worked tirelessly at the Community Church of the Living God at Three Forks, WV.
He has evangelized throughout the WV and VA areas for many years and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Eddie Duane Lamie and Sandra Lynn Lamie; one grandchild, Nicole Lamie; three brothers, Charlie, Kadel, and Archie Lamie; and ten sisters, Mabel Parsons, Leona Stanley, Louise Lane, Glayds Hagy, Lettie Smith, Betty Kennedy, Daisy Sweeny, Billie Kennedy, Nadine ton, and a twin sister, Eva Justice. Survivors are: His Wife of 60 years: Beulah Lee Adams Lamie Son: Jeffrey Glenn Lamie and wife, Angela of Claypool Hill, Virginia Daughters: Treva Darlene Meadows of Garden Creek, Virginia Julie Lamie Clifton and husband, Timothy of Jewell Valley, Virginia Six Grandsons: Wayne Tolliver, Malik Lamie, T.J. Rife, Jamey Hill, Travis Hill, and Hunter Clifton Five Granddaughters: Kayla Lamie, Angel Rasnake, Julia Meadows, Tasha Woods, and Kelly Savanna Clifton Thirteen Great Grandchildren: Robert Stacy, Vayda Rife, Timmy Rife, Braydon Tolliver, Easton Tolliver, Lila Tolliver, Jordan Rasnake, Tyler Rasnake, Austin Kindoll, Jaclyn Kindoll, Tyler Kindoll, Hayden Kindoll, and Kaylee Kindoll.
Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for John Kelly Lamie will be conducted Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 11am at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Clell Daniels officiating.
Interment will follow at the Mitchell Family Cemetery on Pea Patch. Pallbearers will be: Hunter Clifton, Malik Lamie, Jamey Hill, Wayne Tolliver, Tim Clifton, and Eric Rasnake. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Terry Stacey, Mose Cooper, and Jimmy Browning.
