Born October 3, 1938 John was the son of the late John and Ella (DeAngelus) Melone. John was a lifelong resident of Cranston and attended Cranston public schools. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

John was a boxing fan and had an interest in politics. He was employed by Texaco for a number of years. For the majority of his career he was a self-employed Real Estate investor and property manager.

He is pre-deceased by his sisters Eleanor Ritota, and Irene Lamontagne. He is survived by his sister Christine Curren of North Attleboro, MA, and 9 nieces and nephews. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave.

, Cranston on Saturday at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Matthew’s Church, Cranston. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on SATURDAY MORNING from 8:30 – 9:30 am.
