John Michael Holub, 85, of Newton Falls, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Trumbull Region Medical Center. John was born on March 31, 1933 in Newton Falls, the son of John and Mary Frank Holub. He was a 1951 graduate of Newton Falls High School.

After graduation John enlisted in the US Navy, proudly serving our country. John and Elsa Lovas were married for 53 years and had 3 children. Elsa preceded John in death on April 12, 2009.

He was a parishioner at the former St. Michael’s Catholic Church. John was a proud Navy Veteran and life member of AMVETS 112. He was an avid sports fan.

John was employed at General Motors in Hudson for 30 years, where he retired in 1989 as a supervisor. Cherished memories of John will be carried on by his children, Lynn Marie Holub, Mike (Nancy) Holub, both of Newton Falls, and John (Tracy) Holub of Franklin, Ohio, brother Ed (Vi) Holub of Las Vegas, grandchildren Taylor, Jesseca, Rebecca, Jenna, Lindsey, and Mikey, and great grandchildren Ajay and Johnny. Preceding John in death were his wife Elsa, and his sisters Ann Garrison, Helen Gurlea, and Mary Kutcha.

Friends and family may call on Saturday, November 10 from 9 – 11 AM at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls where services will take place at 11 AM. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery, with full military honors.
