John’s Obituary John Smiecinski, age 62 of Mecosta formerly of Redford, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home. He was born February 20, 1956 in Detroit, the son of John Joseph and Lucille (Ghislain) Smiecinski. John worked as a Mechanic at Farmer Jack Hi Lo.

He was a member of I. A. of M. Machinist Union. He made his home at Canadian Lakes and Mecosta for many years. John loved to fish, to work on racecars and loved his kittens and cats.

John is survived by his five children; Jason T. Smeicinski of Roscommon, John Smiecinski of Roscommon, Joel (Kathleen) Smiecinski of Grand Ledge, Jamie Smiecinski of Roscommon, Jessica Smiecinski of St. Helen; five grandchildren; a brother Jay Smiecinski of Mecosta and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sandra Garbarino. A celebration of John’s life will take place this summer.
