John Foster Hendricks, age 17 of Russellville, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 in Russellville. He was born July 4, 2001 to Joe Hendricks, Jr. and Kaye Hendricks. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

He was a Governor’s Scholar, Captain of the swim team, the cross-county team and the track team where he held the 2 mile record at Logan County High School. He received the Presidential Scholarship to the University of Kentucky. He was founder and President of the Junior Optimist Club, President of the Beta Club, and FFA Chaplain at Logan County High School.

He was also the Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship winner for 2018, and was a member of the Sons of The American Revolution He is survived by: Parents ~ Joe Hendricks, Jr. and Kaye Hendricks ~ Russellville, KY Paternal Grandparents ~ Joe Wayne Hendricks, Sr. and wife, Cathie ~ Russellville, KY Maternal Grandparents ~ Marion Parker and wife, Burma ~ Alpharetta, GA He was also survived by several Aunt and Uncles. Funeral Services for John Foster Hendricks will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church Parkside with Doctor Russell Woody, Army Chaplain of Fort Campbell, KY and Bro. Bryan Powell officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation at the church will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 8:00 am until the service hour of 1:00 pm Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Expression of sympathy may be made to Camp Joy in Brownsville, KY. Envelopes will be available at the church.
