John Harvey Van Horn, age 67, of Hot Springs, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018. He was born on December 1, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Gilbert Louis Van Horn and Georgia Holland Van Horn. In 1976, he married Dorothy Van Horn, who preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by both of his parents. He worked in construction for many years and was a Baptist in faith. He is survived by one son, James Powell of Hot Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Chris Epperson of Hot Springs; one grandson, Gabriel Epperson; brother and sister-in-law Bud and Laurie Smith of Little Rock; sister and brother-in-law Susan and Rick White of Benton; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Davis-Smith Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain (USAF Ret) John Goodman officiating. Guest registry is at www. davis-smith.com.
