Janis Elaine Rose Nutt, age 74, of Glenwood, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018. She was born on February 8, 1944, in Raymondville, Texas, the daughter of Burton Wilbert Rose and Leora Fern McNeal Rose. On March 18, 1967, she was married to Jimmy C. Nutt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant brother; and her nephew. She was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church, was retired from the First National Bank and received the honor of Employee of the Year in 2005. She enjoyed reading and going on long slow walks.

Janis was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Nutt of Glenwood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Chris Garner of Glenwood and Christi and Randy Vaughan of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Marissa Garner of Glenwood and Logan Vaughan of Hot Springs; her siblings and their spouses, Sharon and Bill Whisenhunt of North Platte, Nebraska and Mike and Mimi Rose of Groves, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 18, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro.

Glen Harris officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Vaughan, Logan Vaughan, Chris Garner, Chayton Kinzler, Randy Tidwell and Jack Gardner. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of the Montgomery County Nursing Home in Mount Ida and her special caregivers, Tammy, Dena and Geneva. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glenwood United Methodist Church, 404 Broadway, Glenwood, Arkansas, 71943 or to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72205.
