Vernon E. McClelland, age 85, of Orange, Texas, died Thursday, November 15, 2018. He was born on August 9, 1933 in Cedar Glades, AR, the son of the late Rydal McClelland and Nancy Loretta Murders McClelland. On January 31, 1954, he married Maggie Cooper.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Orange, TX. He proudly served is country in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Maggie McClelland of Orange, TX; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bruce McClelland and Wayne and Deena McClelland, all of Orange, TX; two daughters and one son-in-law, Debra K. McGrew and Bosco of Trophy Club, TX, and Bettye and Jack Elliott of Orange, TX; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Jessieville, Arkansas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
