Mr. John H. Bumbaugh, 92, of Menno Haven, Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Waynesboro, PA passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 4, 1926 in Pond Bank, PA he was the son of the late Charles and Lydia (Cook) Bumbaugh. Mr. Bumbaugh was a graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School.

He and his late wife, Helen H. (Helfrick) Bumbaugh were married May 15, 1957 in Cearfoss, MD. Together they lived at their residence on Phillips Avenue, Waynesboro for over 40 years before moving to Menno Village in 2005. Mrs. Bumbaugh passed away July 6, 2009.

Mr. Bumbaugh was employed at Frick Company, Waynesboro for 30 years. Over his 30 years there he worked as a crane operator, managed the store room, the vice president of production, and eventually became plant superintendent. After leaving Frick Company in 1983 he owned and operated Bumbaugh’s Auto Sales for about 10 years.

He was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, Waynesboro. In his younger years Mr. Bumbaugh enjoyed golfing and even played on the Frick Company golf team. Above all he loved his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by three daughters, Judith Dunahugh and her husband Curtis of Ringgold, MD, Susan Keller and her husband Roy of Waynesboro, and Harriet Sandy and her husband Donald of Smithsburg, MD; one granddaughter, Erica Dunahugh; four grandsons, Jason Keller, Shaun Dunahugh, Corey Dunahugh, and Ethan Sandy; two great-grandsons, Clay Dunahugh and Wyatt Dunahugh; one great-granddaughter, Anna Rose Keller; one brother, Martin Bumbaugh of Maugansville, MD; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by three sisters, Arlene, Grace, and Isabelle Bumbaugh and two brothers, Mark and Charles Bumbaugh. Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

However the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in the Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle, PA.
