Obituary for Joseph D. O’Connell Joseph D. O’Connell of Eagle passed away October 1, 2018. Joseph was born September 26, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Daniel and Mary (Glade) O’Connell. Joseph proudly served his country during WW II in the Army of the United States and also served his community as a police officer in Detroit and then later in his career he worked for the State of Michigan training new officers as a Regional Supervisor.

He was a longtime faithful member of St. Michael Parish, enjoyed woodworking and writing. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Arlene (Imrich); children, Karen O’Connell, Kathleen O’Connell and Daniel O’Connell. Joseph was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 5, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Grand Ledge by The Reverend Fr. James Eisele. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow with military honors at Oakwood Cemetery.
