JOSEPH DONALD “JOE” WILSON, age 52, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 1:08 p.m. at Court House Manor. He was born on February 7, 1966 in San Antonio, Texas to Joseph Wilson and Pat Johns Hargo. He was a 1984 graduate of Washington High School.

Joe had worked as the store manager at the former Burger King at 35 and 71. He had attended church at the Rodgers Chapel AME in Washington CH and also enjoyed volunteering his time to the Rose Avenue Community Garden Club. He enjoyed singing, playing pool, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Wilson; brother, Deville Scott; and grandparents, Donald and Opal Johns. Survivors include his parents, Jim and Pat Hargo; children, JD (Bethaney Bensen) Self, and Patrick Wilson; four grandchildren; and siblings, Duane (Treva) Wilson, Jowanna (Delvin) Hood, and Jeremy (Jennifer) Seldon. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Lester Sanders officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions are suggested to Heartland Hospice, 116 Morris Rd.
