Joseph’s Obituary Roanoke, VA Joseph James Kenney, age 76, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, Virginia. Joe was born on June 2, 1942, to Joseph and Wahneta Kenney, who preceded him in death. Joe had a long career in law enforcement, beginning as an officer with the Alexandria Police Department, then with the Marion Police Department, and finally as Chief Investigator with the Smyth County Sheriff’s Department until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dale Hubble Kenney, daughter, Lisa Kenney Smith and husband Keith of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and son Joseph “Jody” Kenney of Roanoke, Virginia. Three grandsons, Tyler Tilson and wife Jessica of Chilhowie, Seth Ratliff of Fredericksburg and Keegan Kenney of Roanoke. Also favorite daughter-in-law Dana Sprinkle Kenney of Roanoke.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Thomas Cemetery in Marion, Virginia with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www. bradleysfh.com.
